Relationships, Health and Sex Education

In June 2019, the Department for Education released guidance to primary schools regarding the statutory teaching of Relationships and Sex Education (RSE).  It is expected that all schools deliver an age-appropriate RSE curriculum.  Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, the Department of Education has stated that:

"The new curriculum will be compulsory from September 2020. Schools should start teaching from that date if they meet the statutory requirements. If they are not ready, or are unable to meet the requirements, they should begin teaching by at least the start of the summer term 2021."

The school has consulted with the school community during Spring 2 2021, and consultation has now closed.  We thank everyone who took part in the consultation, and will now review the responses received.

We will share any further updates with you by May 2021.
